The amazing paint spattered floor images of Andreas Gefeller were composited from various photographs of the floors of each room in the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany, effectively creating a photographic floor map of the school. The completed images then document the wear and tear each room undergoes. It's interesting to note the dominant colors in each room and the way the drips travel through the space. Be sure to visit his website as his other works are equally as impressive. His "Soma" series is particularly interesting if you can figure out how he's actually taking those images. He's using one of my favorite photographic techniques to create that eerie and desolate feeling in that series.
